My wellness journey………
My path into nutrition and wellness wasn’t a straight line, it was shaped by my own health challenges.
I struggled with things like Lyme disease, endometriosis, and infertility, and for a long time, I was also caught up in trying to achieve the “perfect body.” That mindset started in high school and led to years of dieting, frustration, and feeling disconnected from my body. At the time, I thought I was doing everything right, but my health kept getting worse.
Things really started to shift in college when I studied dietetics and discovered movement in a completely different way through hiking and yoga. For the first time, I started to feel like there had to be more to health than controlling food or chasing a certain look.
That curiosity led me to work with a functional medicine nutritionist, and that’s where everything clicked. I learned that a lot of what I was dealing with was rooted in gut imbalances from years of antibiotics and birth control use. More importantly, I started to see food differently, not as something to control, but as something that could support healing and help my body actually thrive.
That experience changed everything for me, both personally and professionally.
It led me to pursue my master’s in Human Nutrition and complete over 1,000 hours of supervised clinical practice with a naturopathic doctor specializing in functional medicine. I also became a licensed dietitian nutritionist in Massachusetts and trained in health coaching through Wellcoaches, which allows me to combine clinical knowledge with a more supportive, personalized approach.
Over the past decade, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some incredible leaders in functional medicine, including Dr. Mark Hyman at the UltraWellness Center. That experience helped shape how I approach care today, looking at the body as a whole and focusing on root causes, not just symptoms.
More recently, my work has focused on fertility and women’s health, which is an area that’s very personal to me. I support individuals and couples through things like hormonal imbalances, endometriosis, and preconception, using a combination of nutrition, functional testing, and personalized strategies that actually make sense for your life.
I’m also an IFM Certified Practitioner (IFMCP), which reflects my commitment to continuing education and staying current with the science behind functional medicine.
At the end of the day, my goal is simple. I want to help you understand your body, feel more supported in your health, and have a clear path forward that doesn’t feel overwhelming.
If you’re dealing with something ongoing or just want to feel better in your body, I’m here to help guide you through it.
In health,
Sarah
